AABI Announces Newly Elected Officers
Aviation Accreditation Board International welcomes new leadership slate
OPELIKA, Ala. — July 17, 2026 — The Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) is pleased to announce the election of its new slate of officers, who will guide the organization's continued work supporting excellence in collegiate aviation education worldwide.
The newly elected officers are:
- Kelvin Mason, Delta Air Lines — Chair
- Matt Tuohy, Jacksonville University — Vice Chair
- Stanley Adams, Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) — Treasurer
- Triant Flouris, Metropolitan College — Regulatory and Compliance
Dr. Wendy Beckman, Middle Tennessee State University, will continue in her role as Secretary. And Dr. Julie Speakes, Liberty University will assume the role of Past Chair.
“I am grateful to welcome this experienced and dedicated group of leaders to AABI’s executive committee,” said Dr. Elizabeth Bjerke, AABI President. “Their combined expertise across the airline industry and academia will strengthen our ability to support accredited programs and advance the standards of collegiate aviation education.”
The new officers will begin their terms immediately and will work alongside AABI's Board of Trustees, Vice President of Accreditation and Vice President of Operations to advance the organization's mission of accrediting quality aviation programs at colleges and universities around the world.
